SPACE TECHNOLOGY: Chandrayaan 2 heading towards Moon after leaving Earth’s orbit

NEW DELHI: After the successful launch of Chandrayaan-2 on 22nd July, it is now heading towards the Moon after completing Earth’s orbit. The Spacecraft is functioning to its optimum and will reach near the moon for the next 7 days and enters the moon’s orbit before making a landing there.
This exploration is aimed for a detailed study of its topography, mineralogy, surface chemical composition, thermo-physical characteristics and atmosphere and better understanding of the origin and evolution of the moon.
