NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court of India which had passed the order of evicting the Tribals and forest dwellers on 13th February 2019 has now puts it’s own order on hold.
The bench comprising Honorable Justices Arun mIshra and M.R Shah has directed the states to file affidavit mentioning the details adopted while rejecting the claims made by Forest Dwelling Scheduled Tribes (FDSTs) and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (OTFD) Act, 2006.
The eviction would have displaced more than 2 lakhs forest dwellers and putting their life, livelihood at stake.
