NEW DELHI: The Indian Film Fraternity on 29th March 2019 came together to protect the Indian Democracy & Constitution against the fascist BJP and RSS ahead of Lok Sabha Election 2019.
More than 100 filmmakers appealed to the Indians through website www.artistuniteindia.com stating that the India, it’s Constitution and Democracy is currently under threat under the fascist ideology of BJP & RSS and collectively it should be defeated. Noted filmmakers like Anand Patwardhan, Vetri Maaran, Kabir Singh Chowdhry, Sanalkumar Sasidharan, Sudevan, Deepa Dhanraj, Gurvinder Singh, Anjali Monteiro, , Devashish Makhija, Aashiq Abu, Bina Paul, Praveen Morchhale, Pushpendra Singh along with other raised the concern. They cited there was a steep rise in communal riots, mob lynching of Dalits and Muslims, women & child atrocities, increase of corruption, farmers’ suicide and cultural fascism, curbing of freedom of speech and expression.
